The 79th Independence day was celebrated in the school with valour. The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted at 9:15 am by Honorary Subedar Major Melvin Fernandes, he was also the distinguished guest of the Independence day celebration. As the flag hoisting ceremony was over student’s marched forward as per their house with the captians to the Rythm of the school band under the captaincy of Hiteshi. The march past was paraded by four houses namely, Blue,Green, Red and Yellow house, each house has a Captian representing boys and girls. Blue house is headed by Master Amruth Kavate and Miss Sweedal Preethi Mirandha. Green house is headed by Master Gowtam Kanal and Miss Prarthana. Red house is headed by Master Shiek Mahammed Raihan and Miss Dhatri Prabhu. Yellow house headed by Master Pragath and Miss Saanvi Shetty. After the honor each house showcased their talents with a cultural programme.
The students of the Lower sections also performed various dance programmes. The students were also felicitated on their meritorious achievements in various events. Honorary Subedar Major Melvin Fernendes, spoke and highlighted the struggle of freedom fighters and their sacrifice of the soilders and brave heared people who were responsible for the freedom of the nation. Sr. Preethi George, Headmistress also stressed the importance of the Independence. Asst. teacher Muriel A Dsouza conducted the programme Mrs. Lavanya welcomed the guest and gathering, Mrs. Kusuma K read out the list of the winners and achievers of various events. Sreya Roslin of class 9 also spoke on the importance of Independence day. The celebration came to an end with the vote of thanks resented by Mrs. Reema Rosario.
